Tobin is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he majored in Physics and graduated with Honors. Following graduation, Tobin served for five years in the U.S. Navy nuclear submarine force, conducting patrols on board ballistic missile submarines. He then began a career in ship design and naval architecture and has worked in this field for several decades, operating a business that provides advanced ship design technical services and software to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. shipbuilders, and international clients.
Tobin has also developed Better Days Farm, a 600-acre commercial grain and poultry farm on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, in Caroline County. He has lived and worked on this farm for several decades and raised his family there. Tobin graduated with a Master of Acupuncture degree in May 2019, and began practicing while completing his Doctor of Acupuncture degree. The doctoral program emphasizes integrating acupuncture with Western medical approaches, and included an internship at the Kaufman Cancer Center at Upper Chesapeake Hospital in Fall 2019. He graduated as a Doctor of Acupuncture in April 2020.
Having experienced first-hand the healing power of acupuncture as invaluable support throughout his life, Tobin is grateful for the opportunity to bring Chinese Medicine to his own community.
